      <description>Connecting 2 Success - Communicating Your Value&lt;br/&gt;Connecting to Success is a high impact workforce preparation program in a business conference format. Students are transported to an off campus meeting site for a day filled with relevant information and exercises designed to prepare them for the world of work.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Volunteer Mentors from the business community lead students through experience-based &lt;br/&gt;learning activities to build workplace professionalism and the ability to engage and influence others as responsible, professional adults.  &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Connecting to Success is based on Junior Achievement’s Success Skills program, &lt;br/&gt;specifically designed for High School age young adults. Students undergo individual interpersonal skills assessments using role-playing, case studies, and group discussions and have bench-marks set as a result. They then practice and develop these skills as JA Volunteer Mentors demonstrate their relevance to school, work, and life.  &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Communicating Your Value - The students will learn to communicate their skills and experience using a variety of career preparation tools. The facilitators will show the students how to complete job applications, prepare work histories, write effective &lt;br/&gt;letters and resumes and organize their skills portfolios.
