Connecting 2 Success - Communicating Your Value
Connecting to Success is a high impact workforce preparation program in a business conference format. Students are transported to an off campus meeting site for a day filled with relevant information and exercises designed to prepare them for the world of work.

Volunteer Mentors from the business community lead students through experience-based
learning activities to build workplace professionalism and the ability to engage and influence others as responsible, professional adults.

Connecting to Success is based on Junior Achievement’s Success Skills program,
specifically designed for High School age young adults. Students undergo individual interpersonal skills assessments using role-playing, case studies, and group discussions and have bench-marks set as a result. They then practice and develop these skills as JA Volunteer Mentors demonstrate their relevance to school, work, and life.

Communicating Your Value - The students will learn to communicate their skills and experience using a variety of career preparation tools. The facilitators will show the students how to complete job applications, prepare work histories, write effective
letters and resumes and organize their skills portfolios. The students will also learn techniques for presenting themselves effectively and practice preparing for interviews with peers.
