KRAYTON SEMINARS

Be empowered to get what you want and deserve

Mitch Krayton is the founder of Krayton Seminars.

Mitch has been in the communications field for decades. He has a degree in Broadcast Telecommunications and a law degree from a local law school. He was on-air at several local radio stations doing the midnight to 6 am shift and has been heard voicing commercials locally on radio station KHTS AM 1220

Instead of sitting for the bar and practicing law, Mitch took a different path and went directly into the executive recruiting field. He was successful helping hundreds of public accountants migrate from public accounting into the private sector. His recruiting clients were the top 500 businesses in California.

After running his own search business for many years, Mitch was asked to be an instructor at the Odyssey School of Executive Search, the first post-secondary institution to teach people the art of executive recruiting. This is a most unique field that carries its share of mystery and confusion in the workforce.

As a recruiter, you are a sales person, but you do not own or control the resources involved in the transaction. You must persuade both the hiring authority and the candidate that they are right for each other, that they should meet, and then help them both to negotiate for a future that will generally be better, but cannot be guaranteed. Many have said this is the most difficult form of intangible selling they have known. It requires a mastery of words, a passion to help and the persistence of a titan.

Shortly after starting to teach, Mitch became the Director of Education for the school. He wrote much of the curriculum and taught many of the classes. His graduates are still in the field and doing quite well. Recognizing the important adult education, he wanted to reach out to even more people.

Mitch joined up with a clinical psychologist to examine why top sales people always outperform others regardless of the product or service they sell. People often think you must be born to sell well. Mitch believes anyone can learn how to sell and succeed.

The clinical research combined with Mitch's practical experience became a textbook for unlocking those exceptional sales techniques. Visiting many schools trying to establish a bachelors degree program in sales, no college or university would accept a such a program labeled 'sales'. They instead preferred to euphemistically incorporate selling into business administration, marketing and economics courses. Yes, those courses are valid, but there is no business that can exist without sales. Why do major colleges and universities hide from this truth?

Sales is not a four-letter word, and Mitch has dedicated himself to promoting the positive attributes of the selling profession. He helps people learn and master the art of selling. He believed so much in his own research that he set out to test his theories by selling an emerging technology that he knew little about, the personal computer.

For the next few decades, Mitch successfully sold computers, digital networks and communications systems using his research. He managed and owned several computer dealerships and consulting organizations. Unlike many who felt computers could do everything including replace people, Mitch appreciated that computers were powerful electronic tools that support people too do more and better work; they don't replace anyone.

It seems Mitch was right. We rely on computers and hand-held, digital assistants for much of our daily communications and productivity, but businesses are still fundamentally people dealing with other people. For that you need interpersonal skills. Mitch helps people find their voice and encourages them to learn to communicate effectively. He is a big proponent of Toastmasters International.

Mitch is a Distinguished Toastmaster from that organization and has earned a Golden Microphone Award from the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the National Speakers Association

As an entrepreneur, Mitch's company, My Voice Is Yours, is an extension of his broadcasting days. This company helps people add an audio logo for impact to their marketing portfolio.

What does your company sound like? A professional image these days is not limited to what people see on your business card or brochure. It must also be what they hear when they call you, what they experience on your website or how they are engaged when you make a presentation. Multimedia engages all the senses including the ears. You can hear samples of his work at the website: http://www.myvoiceisyours.com. Just click on the 'Demo Reels' button.

Mitch perpetuates his passion for teaching through Krayton Seminars. He loves to work with teens in conjunction with Jr. Achievement and he was recently named their Volunteer of the Year.

Because adults learn differently than kids, Krayton Seminars helps adults all over the country examine their strengths and improve their lives. We offer keynotes addresses to many conferences and trade organizations, plus we host seminars and workshops on a variety of topics.
